Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of medicine utilizing tiny therapeutic needles placed in various points around the body to stimulate energy or nerve centers. This form of medicine dates back to China more than 2000 years ago. It is best known for treating pain, but can treat many other disease processes as well.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on energetic medicine using different pathways or meridians throughout the body. These meridians conduct an energy form called Qi, which is influenced by two opposing forces yin and yang. When these two opposing forces become out of balance they can cause pain and disease.
It is a safe, effective, and drug free option to help keep the balance and regulate the normal flow of energy or Qi so the body can achieve and maintain optimal health.
Acupuncture has different effects on the body including:
Decreasing pain signals
