Food Sensitivity Testing
Do you ever eat certain food and notice some type of sensitivity or reaction afterwards? Do you sometimes breakout with hives, eczema, have a flare up of your asthma or even experience abdominal pain and vomiting?
If you experience any of these symptoms, a Food Sensitivity Test
might be indicated. You may say I have had a food allergy test before done by another physician. Most food allergy testing only looks at the IgE mediated response, which is a true anaphylactic allergic reaction. These types of reactions can suddenly appear: redness, swelling, shortness of breath, increase body heat, etc.
At Desert Health Specialists we also look at the IgG mediated food reaction. These are delayed reactions that can occur sometimes 24- 48 hours or more after eating a specific food. Individuals with allergies, asthma, neurological, gastrointestinal, and sometimes even movement disorders often suffer from IgG food allergies. You may be a person with a food allergy and don’t even know it. By continuing to eat a food that you presume is healthy but is ultimately an allergy could be the root cause of some of your health concerns. At Desert Health Specialists we will work with you in eliminating the offending food and ensure that your gut is repaired so that in the future it may be possible to eat that food again.

The adrenal glands, located just above your kidneys, modulate stress in your body. When functioning properly they produce hormones such as cortisol, adrenalin, testosterone, estrogen, DHEA, and aldosterone. The main hormone produced is Cortisol. This hormone controls your Circadian Rhythm throughout the day. Cortisol should be high in the morning upon rising and lower in the evening prior to sleep. If the adrenal glands are under performing symptoms may arise such as low energy level, low vitality, increase pain, increase inflammation and poor sleep pattern.
The testing for Adrenal Fatigue is simple; there are no needles involved. It is a salivary test taken 4 times throughout the day to assess your daily cortisol rhythm.
Once we receive your cortisol test results, we can then devise a treatment protocol tailored specifically to your symptoms and get you back on track with your Health.
